Some of his comments were ultimately included in the final cut with a compilation film clip of Presley's on-screen kisses that reflected the repetitive plot of his films. Disc 4 was recorded live on April 18, 1972, at Convention Center Arena, San Antonio, Texas, and includes previously released material (from 2003's Elvis: Close-Up box set), remixed for this release. As an official soundtrack album for Elvis On Tour was never issued at the time of the movie's original release, the upcoming box fills in a major gap in the Presley discography. When every CD in the 'Elvis Live 69' set was clearly labelled with which concert and date why are the six cds here only numbered? Note that back in 2018 EIN wrote, "This AMIGA bootleg is an incredible, all-encompassing Deluxe presentation of ‘Elvis On Tour’ in pictures and sound.the booklet was no better and I just don’t like the removal of Johnny B Good, I heard that Chuck’s estate wanted too much money?

The first three CDs in this set feature performances from 9th, 10th and 14th April 1972 respectively; that’s Hampton Roads Coliseum, Virginia; Richmond Coliseum, Virginia; and Greensboro Coliseum, North Carolina. I hope that Ernst Jorgensen one day discovers a "power line" of the multitrack concerts as a renewed marketing opportunity (just a hint from me ;) ) or that MGM takes money in hand and releases all FOUR 'On Tour' concerts complete on Bluray with new mix out.

I found it odd that Elvis seemed to ignore his own recent single releases from that era yet he included hit songs from other artists in his concert setlists. The new audio mix here also makes ‘Until It’s Time For You To Go’ sound so beautiful and tender with a really special emphasis on the lyrics of separation and loneliness.The Los Angeles Times felt the documentary was "unpretentious", while the piece favored it over Elvis: That's The Way It Is. The Elvis On Tour box set includes fascinating behind-the-scenes liner notes by Jerry Schilling, a longtime personal friend and member of Elvis' inner circle.

Let's hope we get all of the shows recorded on multi-track like we did with the 1969 Vegas and the 1970 TTWII sets. Richmond is too (similar to my enjoyment of previous bootleg 'Red hot in Richmond') and Greensboro sounds great. The project, originally titled Standing Room Only, was planned to be released with its respective soundtrack album. This version is at a slower tempo and the new dynamic mix emphasises Elvis’ belief and love for gospel music. Perhaps the band were performing extra hard because of the cameras but there was a magic this night, proven by the fact that eight songs would feature in the film.

Richmond – Elvis rocks straight in with a fabulous and funky 'Proud Mary' before the nicely adlibbed “Only made it to Virginia” in 'Never Been To Spain'. D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet, and an orchestra led by Joe Guercio, had gotten to a place at which Elvis could inject spontaneity, allowing the arena shows to have a measure of the unexpected…. Presley was undertaking a 15-city tour, and the film crew led by directors Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel (Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen) would capture four of those shows in Hampton, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Greensboro, North Carolina; and San Antonio, Texas.
