A solvent-based wood protector that penetrates deep into the wood to give a natural, rustic looking colour to both rough sawn and smooth planed timber. Providing an ideal and economical solution for sheds and fencing, it also complements the OUTDOORS paint when that is used on summer houses, decking and other materials . If more comprehensive protection is required then apply a preservative to protect against fungal growth and wood boring insects. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened. Either applied as standalone products or used as a top-coat over a clear or coloured wood preservative, these products are ideal for sealing and protecting garden fences from the Great British weather. Mine arrived and they are of good quality, I have not used them yet as waiting for my pressure treated fence to dry out as recommended.I deducted a star because some of the new fences have rounded tops and when I tried to slide the protector down the fence the top was too tight. Please note that the due to the differences in porosity of some wooden surfaces, rough sawn, absorbent wood will have a darker finish than harder smooth wood. Wax-free formulation can be over-coated with oil-based, solvent-based and water-based paints, varnishes and other wood treatments.

Surfaces already coated with a wood stain such as Timbashield Wood Protector or Timbashield Shed and Fence Protector should be allowed to naturally weather for a year and do not need the additional sanding step and just need to be thoroughly cleaned before reapplication. In preparation make sure that the wood is clean, dry and free from any surface dust or potential contaminants.
