The Fitbit Charge 4 can track six activities, but you can only create shortcuts for four on the device itself so you’ll need to pick and choose the ones you use more frequently. To be clear, the dedicated Spotify app that comes preinstalled on the Charge 4 only enables smartphone music control. A sleep score of 90 or above is considered “excellent,” between 80 and 90 is “good,” between 60 and 79 is “fair,” and less than 60 is “poor. The GPS works with seven different types of activities: running, walking, bike riding, hiking, interval workouts, and a new outdoor workouts mode for things like kayaking, surfing, and skiing. The Fitbit Charge 4's interface is intuitive, with only the touchscreen and a discrete button on the left-hand edge as controls.

The Charge 4 now also features a smart wake feature, which attempts to wake you up at the optimal time to ensure you’re feeling recharged and not groggy. Female health tracking allows women to keep track of their menstrual cycle in the Fitbit app and on the Charge 4 itself. These all work using data gathered by the Charge 4, using your existing activity as a baseline, and providing small suggestions throughout the day to help you improve your behaviour.
