About this deal

She has good friends and a gorgeous boyfriend, but Ryan Jackson, the bane of her existence, keeps popping up everywhere. She has good friends and a gorgeous boyfriend but Ryan Jackson, the bane of her existence, keeps popping up everywhere. Usually I would DNF it, but this story was well written and intriguing even there was high school drama all the time.

So I will go with 3 stars: just because heroine gets 1 star, everyhing else is somewhere above 3 star. Like I said, I am a huge angst junkie, I need to feel the connection, and a few times in this book, I really got the feels. It bothers me to have to point it out, but the epilogue wasn't actually an epilogue, it just gave a little info about what was happening in Ryan's head earlier on in the book. I have been in relationships with horrible boys who treated me like garbage, so I can easily say he is one of them. First contains unrequited high school romance (it's lovely), have jealousy, loved since childhood, best friends to enemies to.He tries being nice to her, but sorry dude that didn't make up for the past, especially if you don't come forward and apologise for it properly. She DOES NOT back down and gives Ryan - and anyone else that happens to be on his side - absolute hell. I literally finished it 5 minutes ago after ignoring my family for the last 4 hours, and I'm still caught up in this sweet high school romance. So, if you like teen romance with heavy does of angst, cliques, bitchiness, sweet romance, drama and jealousy then this one is for you!

I am not sure if that was the authors intension because usually characters are written in a way that the reader can connect WITH them (which sorry to say was not possible in any way with her). However, there are also moments of deep tenderness which pull away from popular 'boy likes girl, girl likes boy but doesn't realise it' paradigm. Becca and Ryan have an interesting relationship, they were once best friends but when Ryan shuns her at school it rips apart their friendship. It was the kind of book that not only could I not put it down, but I would get annoyed at people for interrupting me while reading. She doesn't care that their mutual friend, Jake, keeps pushing for them to all to hang out together, and she especially doesn't care that the rest of the school bows down and worships him.As a 32 year old mother, I prefer my male leads a bit older, but I gave Four doors down a try based on another review that said that this wasn't you're typical YA.

But I was glad in the end that Rebecca got over Charlie when they broke up because for one I knew he was cheating on her. I'd like to think that Canadians are generally pretty nice, but even the popular girls in school were nice enough to everyone. It was so good to read a YA romance where the girl was beautiful and smart, but not pure and virginal. Among the other contemporary YA that I've read this year, this was one of the better ones and one that I'm thinking the most about.

Recommended for: Fans of enemies-to-lovers young adult fiction who don't mind flawed characters or waiting until final chapter for the HEA. Between the premise of friends who turned away from each other, enemies to lovers, and high school angst, this is right up my alley. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. She might not have figured out what she wants to do with her life, but she has something better - Ryan Jackson - and they couldn't be more in love if they tried.

especially with letting her get hit twice by Jessica just because she didn’t come to his game or the after party. He might have been pissed when she went off to a different college, but they make the long distance work because they're "Becca and Ryan", and nothing is going to break them. It was well written and the characters were likable even tho Becca could be really frustrating at times and Ryan had his problems too. Well, BECCA if we were to poll how many times you have mentioned this, I think we would all agree that you do freaking care. He is there in class making a foul out of her and he's there when she talks to one of her best friends that is also his best friends. This is en enemies to lover series in which you'll get to know the characters and how they begin to fall in love and just find their way back to each other. Obviously the only one with attitude is HER, not the popular people she was so against for no reason.
