A straightforward Sauvignon from a difficult vintage in Marlborough, this offers aromas of melon, guava, peach and jalapeño peppers.This is a ripe, aromatic Sauvignon that opens with notes of confected pineapple, peach, Key lime pie and passionfruit, with a hint of grass in the background. With its distinctive, vivid aromas and zesty acidity, Sauvignon Blanc is easy to peg in a blind tasting of dry white wines. Full of ripe gooseberry and passionfruit, intense tropical fruit and lime flavours, with sweet grassy notes; the rich minerality of the vineyard soils come through the palate to give a rich lingering finish. Named for the alluvial plains upon which the vineyards are planted, and featuring imagery of the handcarved Greywacke Stone by local Hawke’s Bay sculptor Ema Scott, this is a quality example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine.
