About this deal

This smells rich and feels like a cooler weather fragrance to me, but it doesn't feel like it's necessarily an evening fragrance. The cherry in this fragrance is so juicy and delicious and the quality of this fragrance is amazing, the closet fragrance I can compare it to is Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum. What I get from it is a mixture of very faint citrus alongside with Almond, Rum , Amaretto , whisky, and leather . I appreciate the scent itself, but the cherry is too heavy in this; it smells too much like amaretto liqueur.

To top it all off, the bottle is a classy glass bottle, shaped similarly to BDC and the effortless spray through the atomiser is an alluring experience in itself. By the fourth hour, the tonka sweetness has subsided, leaving a mild aromatic musk formed largely from ambroxan. The new fragrance is developed by the Guerlain in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser along with colleague Delphine Jelk. I do note however that this isn’t a beast performer, and neither are the six other Guerlains I have - this is French-style, not Middle Eastern. I’m going to be on the hunt for a brown cap bottle, but confident this will remain a firm favourite.I even bought a 100ml back-up bottle of this, l'Instant de Guerlain EdP, l'Homme EdP and l'Homme Ideal Extreme. This fragrance lasts a good 8-10 hours with 1-2 feet of projection on my skin on merely just 2 sprays to each side of the neck. The composition is a woody-oriental, focusing on the almond note covered with leather and Guerlinade vanilla. That's really upsetting considering it costs more than the Guerlain L'homme Ideal Cologne and I get way better performance from that with fewer sprays. I would say the sweet lavender, almond and cherry notes in this fragrance gives this fragrance enough versatility to be worn all year around.

Opens up a little powdery, dries down to a gorgeous, citrusy, almondy, tonka bean smell with a hint of cedar in the back. I'm not saying it's the best smelling of the line(Extreme and L'intense for me), but this is the most balanced and easily wearable in any season aside from high summer heat. The bitter orange is way too bitter and I’ll probably get hate for this but this smells like an old man. It has a strong projection for the first 1-2 hours, but it stays on the body lingering for hours with a moderate sillage.L'Homme Idéal EdT does remind me of certain fragrances like Armani's Code Profumo, Mugler's Pure Havane, Azzaro Pour Homme Intense and SpiceBomb, but without being similar to none. If you dont mind any of the notes i dislike,i suggest you to go for it,for around 75 EU its a fair deal.
