About this deal

It does not have any insulation, I haven't used it in below freezing temperatures yet, but I don't think it would be that big of a deal with the right temperature rated sleeping bag. But the Klymit Insulated Static V’s design makes it so that with roughly 15 breaths it’s fully inflated. I tested this sleeping pad for comfort, stability, weight, and special features on an alpine hiking adventure.

It’s a great mat, ideal for summer use or, as I intend to use it, doubled up with another mat in colder weather. If you want something comfortable for summer and fall temperatures in the backcountry, this is the best sleeping pad for you.

It would be nice to have a pad that offers some insulating warmth, but again, it doesn't claim to offer insulation, and Klymit offers an insulated version of this pad as well. When it comes down to it, you’ll probably be happy with any of these three sleeping pads, but for the cost-to-value – the Static V2 is the winner. The distinct V pattern also baffles airflow as you shift, keeping the bouncy feeling often associated with inflatable sleeping pads to a minimum.Actually blows up in about ten breaths as advertised, is extremely easy to care for and is pretty tuff! Klymit lists a 75D fabric throughout, but the bottom of the pad is a darker color and feels even sturdier. I was immediately taken by how much more comfortable this sleeping pad was compared to other ones I’ve used.
