About this deal

In November 2018, during their panel at Anime NYC, Viz Media announced that they acquired the license for the manga. Izpildījums it kā cute, bet tajā pašā laikā pārāk pārspīlēts, lai es varētu tiešām izbaudīt šo stāstu. then we got the blackboard scene mentioned above and I became impressed with how the book started handling both her social awkwardness and her attempts at overcoming it. Hitohito Tadano is an ordinary boy who heads into his first day of high school with a clear plan: to avoid trouble and do his best to blend in with others.

Gorgeous and graceful with long, dark hair, Komi is universally adored and immensely popular despite her mysterious persona. But things take a turn for the awkward when Manbagi and Tadano get left behind and have to spend the night in snow country. As with most manga with a running gag I figured this might get old, and while Komi's constant trembling and inability to communicate at times does get a bit frustrating, it's not overly so.But the shy girl is very cute and I found myself pulling for her every time she made a little progress toward finding friends. They aren't the one page deals like found in Satoko and Nada lacking in any sort of plot (thank goodness). Komi is starting her second year of high school, and she’s feeling a bit melancholy that all the good times of the previous year are now behind her. The series was directed by Kazuki Kawagoe, with Ayumu Watanabe serving as chief director, scripts by Deko Akao, character designs by Atsuko Nakajima and music by Yukari Hashimoto.

That's a ridiculously huge cast we're talking about, especially if everyone gets a proper and memorable character arc. Even when she is in the company of only one of her classmates she cannot bring herself to talk to him. In a review of the first volume, Gabe Peralta of The Fandom Post commented that a lot of the series' humor comes from "everyone else around [Komi] misunderstanding her moments of silence. In this excellent Japanese manga series, we meet a high school girl who desperately wants to build friendships with her fellow students, but is hampered with extreme social anxiety. It’s the first time either one of them has been in an actual relationship, and Komi wants to convey her overflowing feelings to Tadano, but she’s having trouble even holding his hand!I totally relate to every instance of communication overload that Komi experiences in Komi Can't Communicate vol 1. Synopsis: Valentine’s Day has arrived, and everywhere throughout the school chocolates are given and feelings are overflowing. Fortunately, the teens around her are mesmerized with Komi and her supposed air of cool reserve; when one young man, Tadano Hitohito, learns the truth, he begins a campaign to help the girl reach a goal of making one hundred friends. Synopsis: The high school cultural festival is supposed to be a fun time for all, but Rumiko Manbagi’s enjoyment is ruined when she comes to an awful realization—she and Komi are rivals for Tadano’s love!

And we do want that, because if they're just boxes to tick off on a checklist, then this devolves into Pokémon. Feeling anxious for her friend for the first time, Komi faces uncomfortable, bittersweet feelings, and her communication skills expand more and more. Her classmate, Tadano, is on a quest to help the shy, withdrawn Komi make friends in her new school. It's hard for her to even talk to others, as a result, even though she's quite popular at her school she is isolated and friendless. Registered address: Unit 5, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom.

Synopsis: Komi’s cell phone meets its watery doom at the bottom of the bathtub, but disaster is averted when her dad helps her get a fancy new smartphone.
