About this deal

The Garden, co-producer of Netflix phenomenon Squid Game: The Challenge, has promoted Lucie Duxbury to Head of Programmes, Spencer Kelly to Director of Factual and brought 24 Hours in Police Custody Series Director Jermaine Blake onto its staff as an Executive Producer. Writing style Love Untold has a plot, but its real joy is in how Jones digs her fingernails into decades of complicated family history.

Julian, Dick and Anne are spending the holidays with their tomboy cousin George and her dog, Timothy. Fans of The Great British Bake Off, especially fans who have just started to notice how wobbly the show has got without her. Photograph: Antonio Olmos/The Guardian View image in fullscreen Successful pivot from quizshow sidekick to bestselling author … Richard Osman. It’s the story of a family who lose everything, only to find themselves, and each other, along the way. They have presented many TV shows such as multi Bafta-winning The Great British Bake Off (BBC) and Light Lunch (Channel 4).

Plot A fiftysomething woman is devastated when her partner is diagnosed with dementia and his children turf her out of the home they shared. Plot The Thursday Murder Club – four pensioners who live in a fictional Kent retirement village, and keep their minds active by solving old crimes together – are back for their third trip around the block, written by Osman, the TV producer turned host of Pointless turned novelist. Mel has also touched on mental health of Sally and her family; which I found interesting because each one is suffering in some way and has been written with care and shows a light at the end of the tunnel. Please Note: By their very nature, all signed books will have been handled several times before they get to you. Along with a reminder that the VERY best grown ups are those who hold on tight to the chiddler inside.

Inspired by her passion for books, Mel hooks up with her friend and Dorset local, Martin Clunes, to explore the spectacular scenery and iconic locations made famous by some of Britain's favourite books and films. In interviews, Giedroyc has spoken of her desire to turn The Best Things into a “Leatherhead Trilogy”. He spends chapter after chapter making doubly sure you feel the way he wants you to feel about each character before dropping his bomb. It is stridently confident when it comes to hitting you around the head with sentiment until you relent and start crying, too. Along with a reminder that the very best grown-ups are those who hold on tight to the chiddler inside. That said, Gary is described as having a slightly larger nose than Mortimer, so they are definitely different people. Main character Carol, a middle-aged woman forced to move back in with her parents after her stepchildren cut her out of their lives. There are no big literary flourishes, no sense that Osman is reaching for something beyond his grasp. But when her husband suddenly goes bankrupt, all this is whipped away from her and she can start to find herself again.

I really like Belfast and set myself the task of reading as much literature connected with the city as possible. Mel has written two non-fiction books and has appeared in sitcoms and panel shows, as well as on radio and on stage, most notably in Stephen Sondheim's Olivier Award-winning Company in the West End. I zipped through it with many an accompanying titter, the occasional chortle and the odd unladylike snort.

Part of Osman’s appeal is how familiar he is willing to be, whether to his readers, viewers or Twitter followers. It rips along at a decent clip and, even though O’Porter now lives in Los Angeles, does a very good job of depicting the empty aspirational scuzz of the London creative scene. No soggy bottoms here' CLARE MACKINTOSH__________Sally Parker is struggling to find the hero inside herself.
