About this deal

The legend starts with the dark angel (reminds me of Lucifer) from Paradise, where good and evil meet, and speaks about twelve Guardians (twelve tribes in Israel)--the Covenant foretells the coming of Neteru, who is a super-being mortal like Buffy? It became due at the library and though I'd made it through half the book, I decided that the book wasn't worth a renewal. This story is about love and hope, the loss of a normal childhood and the pain of being a part of a family, even if it is just a man and his son. From his time spent as an orphan, to his complex relationship with his father, his first encounter with puppy love, and his struggle with wanting to be a good guy in a villain filled city, Anderson infuses Michael’s story with a great deal of heart, emotion, and depth. e. orphaned, lonely protagonist grows up in an environment where he’s deeply misunderstood and gradually learns to use his power for nefarious means because it gives him a measure of control over his life and the lives of others.

Michael isn’t a “good” guy, but he knows that the line between Good and Bad is far less defined than most people pretend. He really soaks in the world around him, and we get to experience the ups and downs of the story through his eyes and heart. If a single element needs to be explained three different ways for your audience to understand it you are doing something wrong…. Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher or author in exchange for a free and honest review.

John David Anderson once hit himself so hard on a dare by his sister that he literally knocked himself out of a chair and nearly blacked out. On the negative side, however, Minion suffers from a distinctive and shocking dearth of female characters. This is about a Vampire Huntress (think Buffy with more attitude)who is also a spoken word entertainer. If i have a problem getting into a story, I will usually put it down for a while, and try to approach it again at another time. With many awards to her credit, Banks also held a masters of fine arts degree in film and media arts from Temple University.I mean I thought I was pretty ghetto in 2003 when this book was written but I don't remember guys constantly fist pounding for everything! This makes him a great protagonist, because the reader can feel the internal struggle going on between right and wrong in his head. One dark an lonely day, not really I just wanted to say that, Michael is adopted and whisked away to the only home is to know. The Dictator and his minions have infiltrated the unprotected city hence the appearance of the Comet to save the day. Why did I read this book: I thoroughly enjoyed Sidekicked, and was thrilled when I learned that there would be a companion novel set in the same world.

she's an author of color, writing about characters of color in the fantasy genre, and I'm a woman of color.

So naturally, leaving her baby with the prayer vigil, she goes out to perform a demonic ritual to get him back. Banks' novels are steeped in both vampire lore and hip-hop culture and feature a vivid cast of black heroines and heroes. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). She's not a bad writor its just the unnecessary hip hop vernacular, fist pounding, lack of action, etc. His step father is somewhat of an inventor and he makes black boxes with all kinds of goodies inside and sells them to the highest bidder, which is normally the bad guys.

All throughout, besides the charming S-word there were f-bombs going off to the left and to the right of me. With there being two books in this series with different locations and characters, I would really like to see what would happen if they were combined. They story was much better because I was able to concentrate on the story instead of pronunciation of words.Damali and her Guardian team cannot afford such delusions, especially now, when a group of rogue vampires has been killing the artists of Warriors of Light and their rival, Blood Music. The novel opens with their world succumbing to a powerful, new enemy (master vampire Nuit) who seems to be ravaging corpses and creating a new vampire/demon breed that are more difficult to track and slay. This is the urban fantasy equivalent, and I'm so glad I could just shut the book and back away slowly.
