About this deal

Mainly it was because I was older and had a part-time job so could afford the extra instead of saving pocket money when I was younger. The only American Idol who earned over twenty minutes of success, Kelly's finding massive success with her second album, and for a reason - she's got an awesome voice, and pulls off rock quite well.

However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease. It's somewhat annoying that Keith's been on NOW albums consistently for a while but his songs aren't as popular as, say, Gretchen Wilson. Synth pioneers continued to make waves on track 5; Erasure’s superb Love To Hate You which spookily pre-empted the following summer’s Abbaesque EP as the chords sounded a little like Take A Chance On Me.

Following on are Voice Of The Beehive and their spunky cover of The Partridge Family’s I Think I Love You.

Some of the Special Editions have identical names, although a few of these titles are followed by their year of release. A formidable collaboration between the major music labels of the Eighties birthed this iconic compilation series. When I think of the summer of 1999, I think of the Felicity Shagwell poster on my bedroom ceiling, the brief period in which Mel B was known as Mel G, and the formation of my soul because of Now! To this alternative-leaning Eighties teenager who was into The Beatles, The Jam, Depeche Mode, and the Seventies dinosaurs, waiting patiently for Pixies to turn up, the series represented the devil’s own elevator muzak.A pleasant interlude before the horror show of Color Me Badd’s I Wanna Sex You Up, the bad boy of New Jack City. The tracklist is a timebomb of Top of the Pops, New Romantic classics and weird ill-fitting off-cuts.

I vividly remember singing along to Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris’s “Dance Wiv Me” as I reenacted Dizzee’s star role in the accompanying music video in which he swaggered around a nightclub and chatted up girls. But the albums remain the same - a variety of top songs and a playlist that runs through various genres, voices and styles.

There I was, sat on my own on a long-haul bus, hair parted in the middle, plugged blissfully into a chunky, bright yellow Walkman.
