I actually really liked reading The Help but there was such good casting and acting in the film that when it was over I thought “This is one of the few movies I enjoyed much more than the book!

The movie roars toward its sizzling crescendo with a steadily rising surrealism that makes every conceivable outcome seem plausible.

Rereading the book in a mother-daughter bookclub, I was shocked at how moralistic and shallow it was–another case where my own imagination had supplied so much of the depth to the book, and in memory ascribed it to the actual book. These movies tend to skew on the older side, so it can give you a chance to revisit a classic or watch a movie you heard about for years, but never saw.The Logan twist sucks shit, he was actually fine before this but once the twist happens he's a completely different character and a shit one at that. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a film that will make you laugh as well as occasionally bringing a tear to your eye. It has Jane Seymour in it as Marguerite (as well as Ian Mckellan as Chauvelin), and the musical is definitely influenced by the movie, and not just the book – particularly in the characterizations. Bride Flight tells the story of three young Dutch women, Ada, Marjorie, and Esther who want to start a new life in New Zealand. This is actually the situation that producers on the second 'Transformers’ movie found themselves in when the strike curtailed the script work done by Alex Kurtzman Roberto Orci - really more guidelines than hard copy. The movie starts off portraying him harder than the book does and slowly you see that other side of him…the caring, sensitive side.When an alternate-universe version of Evelyn’s husband Waymond ( Ke Huy Quan) beseeches her to help him save the multiverse, the hurt and disconnection between mother and daughter figure strongly in the battle. I think Disney did a phenomenal job making the books into a movie that is loved by multiple generations. The book is incredibly simplistic and the characters fall flat compared to how they’re portrayed in the movie.
