About this deal

The cable supplied with the BM-800 ties XLR pins 1 and 3 together and routes them to the sleeve of the 3. cable with the BM800, the power for the electronics comes from the 'plugin power' (around 5vdc) of the computers mic jack. The microphone has a frequency response range of 20Hz-20kHz, and testing confirmed this – the microphone was able to pick up very high and low frequency sounds – and a sensitivity of -34dB ±3dB. I’ve been impressed with both the build and audio quality that the microphone delivers, and really enjoy using it. I’m building the Alice boards using through-hole components, so I needed a little more real estate than the original board provided.

Anti-shock mount, clip holder mount, arm stand, these can provide stable and adjustable support for microphone. Although I have not used the BM800 microphone as extensively as the Audio Technica AT2020, here are some personal pros and cons. A 'phantom box' or other source of phantom is needed for the BM800 when used as a conventional XLR-XLR connected mic. Most any condenser mic needs some sort of 'phantom' to power the internal electronics (preamp) of the mic including an electret. The switches will be mounted on the TOP of the switch pcb's, not on the bottom like in the 2200A's, for ease of (dis)assembly. You can mount the shock mount on all the standard microphone stands as it has a standard screw adapter.

This means plugging it into a device that doesn’t provide some kind of power (aka my laptop, my phone, even my kids’ desktop computer) won’t work. MAYBE the boards might fit other similarly sized mics, but i'll leave that up to others to find out, if they're curious (Apex 480 perhaps? The circuit is constructed of primarily surface-mount parts; the JFET and two electrolytic capacitors are through-hole components. The mic seems to be the ultimate Millennial/blogger bait, lots of glitter and wires but doesn't perform.

It has a small diaphragm electret-condenser mic element - so it does not require high (polarizing) voltage. This is important since the mic is a side-entry rather than end-entry, meaning sound must enter from the side and not the end. Mounting rails inside are pretty big, so there's option to change it for little bit longer without any problem. The LPF is done wrong, there is an extra transistor that does nothing other than leak and a few parts that are just in the wrong spot. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Have a listen to audio in each video and hopefully you can determine which microphone meets your needs. The plug-in-power on my DR-70D puts out a little under 3V, and my battery box from Church Audio puts out a little over 9V with a fresh battery.
