About this deal

This is a big deal for a lot of reasons, but he has to keep it a secret or risk being executed or jailed. His father is a disgrace, he was supposedly responsible for a lot of bullshit and ended up being murdered for his troubles, leaving his wife and kids alone in a world where they are now disliked because of him. The first thing that struck me right away was the map - a giant tree that is labelled showing each branch being a different part of the city of Shal Gara. Bit of Mephiston Red highlighting and a tidy up on the armour above the wings and she’s good to go… Probably to go do bad. Estes and Galley provide a gorgeous map of Shal Gara which is immensely helpful for readers learning their way around.

The army clearly were skilled enough in martial disciplines and dedicated enough to beat the directorate and smash the portal, so we can believe that this particular set of killer commandos could still fight a cabal of demons and survive. Kaleah is a great MC and its easy to see how she views her world as a naive, young princess with no experience outside the palace. One powerful thought somehow transported us away from a river of lava and into a land of icy winds and devastation. He is sure he was meant for more than a lifetime of drudgery, working to support every aspect of Shal Gara’s existence. When stretching sprue over a candle (to make aerials, whips and details etc) you sometimes pull when it’s not hot enough or over stretch it and it snaps. I do have to say a few things don't make sense and come way too abruptly, and while it is easy disgard it due to how good the book is overall, I do feel it necessary to address.

The story follows Princess Kaleah who will be the new ascended body for Goddess Lilitha when she ascends on her 18th birthday because this is her birthright and duty. I hate reading/ listening to books that just makes me angry cause the main just gets shit on the entire time. This is definitely a series I will be watching out for and diving right into the next book because J. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. One from mostly models I have previously painted (That might get a bit of a spring clean) and one from a collection of built but unpainted Beastmen and Minotaurs I was gifted some time ago. This album has good continuity in the sound - ambient, dark, but also with a urgency in the underlying (electronic) drum beat.

This could all be awkward to balance and keep plausible and there is plenty to learn about the game without putting in all the work required to add The Last of the Humans expansion yourself, but it certainly sounds like a fun concept to me. In a book this size you would expect some lulls but there really isn't a lot of standing around and long winded dialogue here. While I personally enjoy these moments, they can be frustrating for others, so if you go in expecting fast pace actions, you might be a bit miffed. Yet as she stares into the eyes of her betrothed, she recognizes him as the assassin who tried to kill her.

The worldbuilding, plot and characters are brilliant, it's so fast paced, action packed with battles and the magic elements is excellent. Special thanks to the narrator, he knocked this out of the park, i really hope there will be another in the series it really deserves to shine in a sea of books now days. No character was ever irritating to listen to talking, you never wished that they would move on to the next one, and you never outright thought that this is a badly written character, moreso its the opposite! A forest-dwelling civilisation that lives in mile-high giant bloodwood trees, using its sap to fuel their magic and an entire society and ecosystem formed around living in these enormous trees. I went to this book because it’s written by an author I almost always enjoy, and it’s narrated by one of my top ten favorite audible narrators, Tim Gerard Reynolds.
