About this deal

Pick up some terrain, grab another character expansion and heck even pick up the settlement card pack to even FURTHER expand the game. Play through a solo campaign or setup AI forces as a third party in your player vs player or co-op games. I've been looking into wasteland warfare a lot recently and have decided it's something that I'd really like to get into. You can literally move you mini anywhere on the map but can only do so within the range of their marked movement, which will be highlighted on their character card.

As someone who came from playing board games normally and this being my first miniature wargame, this was like a breath of fresh air. A forerunner for Fallout is Wasteland, a 1988 game developed by Interplay Productions to which the series is regarded as a spiritual successor. You can upgrade this with the Resin Two Player Starter Models set to get most of the miniatures in multi-part high-quality resin (except Deathclaw which is available separately, and the Alien Zetan which is PVC-only). The box also contains sheets upon sheets of information, small cards for different choice encounters and quests the players may bump into, the myriad of weapons the players may recover during their adventures. There is an incredible amount of detail in all these scruffy looking characters, irrespective of what side they are all.If you are wondering which Fallout tabletop game to go for (the present wargame or FFG's boardgame), I'd be rooting for the one here. You can also develop your settlements, buildings, defenses, and resources, which impacts your crew’s army list and abilities in the wasteland. This makes every interaction with an opposing troop in the Wasteland that much more tactical and dangerous, with high risk high reward combat that could lead to a crippling loss or detriment for the rest of the campaign. This might annoy the more dedicated wargamers out there seeing how fully assembled minis are much harder to paint and treat around the joints.

This can lead to fun rivalries growing at the table between players, maybe they have a heroic character who killed your longest living troop who you spent multiple missions upgrading and caring for. In Fallout: Wasteland Warfare players will build their own crew from a wide range of factions, allies and iconic characters from the Fallout series, and play in apocalyptic games of 3 - 30 high quality 32mm scale miniatures through a huge variety of iconic scenery and settlement buildings, from the Red Rocket to Sanctuary Hills, Nuka-Cola vending machines and wrecked cars. I think you’d enjoy Fallout a lot but I think you should finish painting one of your current projects first. This game’s always been on my radar but justifying another miniatures game is difficult when you can’t keep up with what you already have. Conclusion: Fallout: Wasteland Warfare is a terrific miniatures game, and the Two Player Starter Set is the best way to get a taste of it. What I would suggest is picking up some of the barriers and cars that Modiphius makes because you just need to paint it up and then you can use it.
