About this deal

In comparison to the other languages, the vocabulary knows very few pronunciations in addition to sounds. As you look through this workbook, therefore, you will probably notice that the Japanese presented in the back is considerably more difficult than what appears toward the front.

The Kana Workbook teaches the reading and writing of the two most basic Japanese scripts, hiragana and katakana. Japanese for Busy People' is, as the title suggests, a concise course for 'busy' students who want to learn natural spoken Japanese as effectively as possible in a limited amount of time. Biography: The Association for Japanese-Language Teaching (AJALT) was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the Japanese Ministry of Education in 1977. Volume I dealt with survival Japanese' for tourists and other short-term travelers and newcomers to Japan.

this is a acceptable introductory choice, as long as you are willing/able/motivated enough to use other resources (like the internet or the library) to fill in the blanks. It is ideal for self-study and it, along with "Japanese for Everyone," are highly recommended for people going that route. At each level, enough vocabulary and grammar has been provided to enable the learner to easily communicate in uncomplicated adult Japanese. The Association for Japanese-Language Teaching (AJALT) was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the Japanese Ministry of Education in 1977.

I struggled to read sentences in this book that I would have read naturally if they had kanji in them. I feel that this book is not a good choice if you are a self-taught/self-teaching student of Japanese. AJALT created the best-selling Japanese for Busy People series, as well as the Japanese for Young People series, both published by Kodansha USA Publishing. Volume I dealt with "survival Japanese" for tourists and other short-term travelers and newcomers to Japan.

A comprehensive course for teaching Japanese to young adults in English-speaking countries -- from The Association for Japanese-Language Teaching (AJALT), developers of the renowned Japanese for Busy People series. Practice conversations, listening, rudimentary comprehension, and grammar and vocabulary usage on each topic. Used this book for both self-study before my first trip to Japan, and it was also the class manual for my Japanese language classes (after I came back from my trip).

In addition, new appendices list the particles, interrogatives, and sentence patterns in the book, as well as the kanji introduced. Used alone, this book would be adequate for a short stay in Japan since basics like "Where is the train station? The conjugation rules are relaxed and aren’t bound to some exceptions of verbs as well as adjectives. The sentence structure is always "(somewhere) ni ikimasu/kimasu/kaerimasu", but it's always "(somewhere) DE aimasu/mimasu/tabemase/etc".

Now, a decade after its first revision, the entire series is being redesigned, updated and consolidated to meet the needs of 21st-century students and businesspeople who want to . Each lesson in this workbook provides practice problems for helping students apply what they have learned. Japanese ( Nihongo) is a language spoken by over 130 million people, mainly in Japan, but also by Japanese emigrant communities around the globe. But if you actually want to get to know the language in an enjoyable way, there are better beginner options. Each chapter introduces target grammar and vocab gradually, so it's never dumped on you all at once. Useful for my purposes which was having dialogues and passages to read at my level without the romaji directly next to the kana. I'd rather take the (long) time to build solid foundations than start どうもうありがとうございますing in a thick accent and not being able to understand the reply.
