I bought this book too expecting a little more out of it, like some fabulous new trick i hadn't seen or thought of yet. Each page is thick and the visuals are really stunning giving you a lesbian art museum in a book which I commend. I picked this up at the (independent, queer-owned-and-operated) erotic boutique down the road; I was ecstatic to support them.

Harding’s lushly illustrated tome uses a lot of classic looking paintings to illustrate many points, which will simultaneously allure and weird you out. Book was listed as 'very good' condition, but when it arrived the cover had stains, creases and folds, and a small tear on one edge. My housemate caught me reading it in the kitchen room (not so much 'caught' as if it were anything I was trying to hide) and asked if it could be one of the coffee-table books of the household. Tschaikner began posting the illustrations on Facebook, billing the project as a “ Kama Sutra advent calendar. Visually stunning, it is accompanied by exquisite historical artworks, erotic illustrations and tasteful instructional line drawings.

But if you're looking for a lesbian version of 'The Joy of Sex', or hoping to become a lesbian 'sexpert', then my advice would be to look elsewhere.

Reading this book will simply change your sex life from "Good" to "Amazing Sex That Overwhelms Every Inch of My Skin". But for those innocent in the ways of lesbian love, you rub both your clits together with one leg crisscrossed with each other. It educates to remove the shame and the stigma from within: that being a lesbian should be celebrated despite the societal resistance and condemnation.However, no one knows when women began having sex with other women, or if ever there was even a lesbian Kama Sutra or Women Only Beginner’s Sex guide book to begin with. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Still, it is an ancient text and could use a little updating for our modern times: Queer sex and nonnormative gender identities do pop up in the text, but for the most part, the assumed reader is heterosexual.
