Highly recommended, especially to Blondie fans of a certain age like me who hadn't bought one of their albums since Autoamerican.

Heart of Glass” added disco’s bounce to the band’s guitar crunch; their cover of the rocksteady classic “The Tide is High” made plain the Caribbean influences that were infiltrating rock in the late ’70s and early ’80s; “Dreaming” was an urban-cowboy sigh reclining on a cloud of glitter; and Harry’s downtown-blasé, Fab 5 Freddy-saluting bridge on “Rapture” led to it becoming the first rap video to appear on the white-breadiest, earliest iteration of MTV. Critics generally commented on the large number of collaborators and composers, lamenting the small number of Harry-Stein-penned tracks, and praised Congleton's production and Harry's interpretation. In keeping with the Pollinator album, the costume was designed as a statement about the dwindling bee population and environmental health.

The album's bustling with life throughout,and original members; Debbie Harry,Chris Stein and loyal to the end drummer Clem Burke,with their trademark punky sound,make this possible. Stephen Thomas Erlewine from AllMusic highlighted the balance between the effort to dialogue with modern sounds and the intention to be faithful to the identity of the band. I was worried for Blondies 11th Studio recording Thankfully I shouldn't have been in fact so taken by it am I that it goes into my Top 3 of all time after Parallel Lines and Eat to the Beat, 12 Tracks (yes 12! The collaborations work so well; you can hear the influence on the song, but it remains a Blondie track.

This album is overall amazing in it's ability to update and at the same time retain all the perfect qualities of New Wave. A date in Chile was scheduled but later cancelled and rescheduled for 2019 and going sold-out in ten minutes.

Lead guitarist Chris Stein stated in an interview with Mojo, "We thought to ask people because there's so much good music swirling about", rather than it being a result of running thin on ideas.
