About this deal

This series will also feature DC Connie Williams from the Zoe Finch books and her partner Rav, who move in down the road from Freya. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. McLean’s debut novel was “Thicker Than Water,” which she published in 2018 to much critical acclaim. It transpires that the deceased Archie was a serial womaniser, married with a child living in Bristol, who he goes home to on alternate weekends.

The murder of Jo Ramsden, a young girl with Down’s Syndrome who went missing from Bridport in April 1991, has never been officially solved.Lesley makes her feelings clear, evidence trumps assumption and the sweat box will not be receiving an donations from her. SANDRA COURT: Sandra Court’s body was found dumped in a shallow river at Avon Causeway, Hurn in May 1986, just months before one of Britain’s most high-profile cases, the disappearance of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh in London. Why is Superintendent Carpenter being so weird - why didn't he just meet Lesley away from the station and tell her his suspicions? DCI Lesley Clarke from the Zoe Finch series moves down to Dorset and starts her first murder investigation on the south coast when she hears someone find a body at an archeological dig in the village of Corte Castle the afternoon before her first day. The Dorset Crime series takes place after the first six Zoe Finch books, when DCI Lesley Clarke is transferred to Dorset.

Pat Wilnecker, The High Street Murders 1598 (Borough of Poole Museums Service, 1980), available in the Local Studies Library. One of the people she's closest to is to under arrest for the murder of DCI Mackie and a body has been found in the remote lighthouse at Portland Bill. Sewing binding for longer life, where the book block is actually sewn (smythe sewn/section sewn) with thread before binding which results in a more durable type of binding. Two people have been charged with murder after the discovery of partial human remains in Boscombe, Dorset police have confirmed. For me this did not have the satisfactory conclusion that I have come to expect from Rachels novels. Note: Zoe appears in these books as part of a storyline that’s separate from the main series storyline in the Zoe Finch books. Mr Green had hosted a party at his home on the weekend before he died, which made the investigation difficult due to the number of fingerprints at the scene.

The Sessions were attended by the Lord Chief Justice, Sir Thomas Fleming, who just a few years before had presided over the trial of the infamous Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators in the Gunpowder Plot.If you'd like to know more about my books and receive extra bonus content, please join my book club at rachelmclean. Leslie's home life takes a knock, when a surprise visit back to Birmingham finds her husband in the arms of another woman. When a body is found in the lighthouse on the Isle of Portland it turns out it was one of the last people Lesley arrested before she left the West Midlands, to move to Dorset. I do feel, however, that the crossover with Zoe Finch is starting to play too great a part in the stories and that Lesley Clark is beginning to become a caricature of herself.

The snippets of information about local places brought back memories - eg climbing up the mound on which Corfe Castle stands, thinking about the French soldiers who were locked into the dungeons. Already looking forward to reading the next one, although I fear it might be the last one, I do hope not though.

I absolutely loved The Corfe Castle Murders, so it's a good thing that book two The Clifftop Murders comes out later this month. It doesn’t matter too much though, if you want to read Deadly Origins first or at any point in the series, it won’t spoil the other books. Note: It’s best to read these after the Dorset and Zoe books, especially the Zoe books because of Mo moving to Scotland. And why the story involving Sharon…doesn’t make any sense apart from getting another Dorset landmark into the story.
