About this deal

It's described as 'a show with live actors', using animated scenes, electronic special effects and live actors. The novel starts with Dracula travelling from Russia to London on a shipwrecked schooner off Whitby’s coast. Whether you're a fan of Dracula's legend, a lover of gothic literature, or simply seeking an elegant writing experience, this set is your gateway to darkly romantic correspondence. There is a song that speaks of Robin Hood who saved a town from the siege of French pirates on the North East coast. Although that was over 125 years ago, the view hasn’t changed an inch and the Dracula legacy still lives on.

Chosen for its Dracula connections, around 1,500 goths flood the streets and the Spa Pavilion for music, markets and more. I have to say I’m very impressed with this book, it’s a great source of reference and also very enjoyable to sit and read. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. Bram Stoker’s love for Whitby and the surrounding area is evident when you read the words of his novel’s characters, such as Mina. Following Dracula tourism, Whitby is a haven for Goths of all kinds and so it’s only natural that there are some ghoulishly delightful treats on offer! There is an audio track playing as you go around but to be honest it's so poorly recorded and differing ones playing so close to each other that it's absolutely useless and the noise freaks you out more than anything in there. In practice, it’s pretty difficult to find anything in said churchyard because of the interesting effects coastal weathering has had on the centuries old residents of this cliff top resting place.

Ian Thompson has had a lifelong interest in horror films and scary stories, and Dracula is a story that has fascinated him. In the 18th Century, they were then replaced with Sneaton Stone and have remained that way ever since. All the crew is drowned, including the Captain, but out the ship runs a huge black dog who makes its way up the 199 steps and over to Whitby Abbey. It chronicles Stoker’s stay in Whitby – pinning down (as far as is possible) where and when – and describes the probable inspiration for many of the characters.I don't like intense surprises or jumpscares and I wouldn't have liked it if they had suddenly lunged forward at us. There are skull and crossbones tombstones that people say are a contender for the Count’s resting place, but it’s actually more likely to be an unnamed pirates grave or stonemason. Stoker spent a week exploring Whitby alone before being joined by his wife and baby son for a family holiday.
