Despite the multitude of familiar elements, the film contains enough seasonal charm to override any minor qualms. So one special December, Buddy sets off on a holiday adventure to New York City in quest of his real dad. Once there, Buddy struggles to fit in in the Big Apple and finds himself in all sorts of scrapes as he tries his best to spread Christmas cheer wherever he goes.

Don't get me wrong though, it is jam-packed with typical holiday cheer and almost sickeningly happy clichés of Christmas but its mix of slapstick and cheeky wit made me "lol" more than a few times. She wasn't sure at first but as the movie progressed she warmed it greatly and by the time it finished she was loving it.
