Oddly enough, I could equally picture myself wearing this at a cottage with a hoodie on, or at the office in late October while suited up. I prefer this and EN Sport over the OG, and this is a very economical alternative to fill the GPH I slot. The incense, orris, and the benzoin give it an oriental vibe at times, but my favorite part is the sillage. I have previously tried Encre Noire Sport, and the smoky vetiver in it did remind me somewhat of the central note in Sycomore. EN L'extreme, much like its little brother, is one of those polarizing fragrances that won't appeal to the masses. The original Lalique Encre Noire was one of the most avant-garde fragrances of its time, nobody had created something like that before.And I know that's probably not a popular opinion, but it's just that: my opinion, so take it for what it's worth (not much).

If you are looking for the elegant, smokey Majesty of Chanel Sycomore EDT or the sweet soapy Standard bearer of the Guerlain, you won't find it here.
