About this deal

The Diamond Brothers is a series of humorous children's detective books by Anthony Horowitz, recounting the adventures of the world's worst private detective, Tim Diamond, and his much more intelligent younger brother, Nick Diamond. Three of Diamonds (2004): A compilation of The French Confection, I Know What You Did Last Wednesday and The Blurred Man. The series is based on the book South by South East, which Horowitz claimed he wrote after he had written the television series, effectively making South by South East a novelisation of the television series rather than the novel acting as the primary source of inspiration. Although he's around the age of 13-14, and can think on the spot well, I'd have to go for the mastermind behind getting the box of Maltesers, the Fat Man. I recommend this book for readers who enjoyed the magnificent Alex Rider Series and also people who enjoy reading crime, mystery and adventure genre books.

The noir trope is just a little overdone and there are just too many convenient situations to advance the plot with the characters just lucking into their next clue. Could not believe my own eyes while reading this book, I really liked how they completely changed up the situation and made it a lot more interesting! I have previously enjoyed books in this series and will always adore the hilarious relationship between the Diamond Brothers. The author builds bad tension in the book when a bomb is thrown into Nick Diamonds room and he almost dies, "The grenade hit the bed and bounced back toward the window. After cutting my teeth on the hugely popular show, Robin of Sherwood, I moved on to work with David Suchet and his brilliant portrayal of Hercule Poirot, writing about nine or ten episodes of Agatha Christie's Poirot. Meet the Diamond Brothers, the world's most defective detectives, by the author of the number one bestselling Alex Rider series.

Horowitz’s style of writing is built upon clever word play and dark humour, which is great fun, and would certainly entertain KS2 readers.A series of murders and encounters with some of the worst villains in England results in finding probably the biggest fortune ever known to man. As odd as it sounds, it sends them into a case about criminal organisations, a criminal mastermind dubbed the Fat Man, murders, and how barcodes work. Snape then arrests them, but Nick is let out the next day, although he tells Herbert not to reveal what Naples gave them. Following the main plot events, Nick and Tim finally managed to earn enough money to be able to fly out to Australia to visit at their parents for the first time since they had emigrated there, which was sometime prior to the events of The Falcon's Malteser. Snape then tells Herbert he is a suspect, mainly because they were found with Naples dying, in his hotel room, just moments after a gunshot rang out – and Herbert was holding the gun that had killed the dwarf.

Adaptation Distillation: In what is otherwise a remarkably faithful adaptation of the original novel (Horowitz wrote the screenplay himself), Nick's escape from Gott and Himmell's flat is simplified, and his second visit to the Hotel Splendide is omitted entirely. An original thriller, Magpie Murders was published last year and got some of the best reviews I've had. This is a brand new edition of the first novel in the Diamond Brothers series and has been updated by Anthony Horowitz. He has won many major awards including the Bookseller Association/Nielsen Author of the Year Award, the Children’s Book of the Year Award at the British Book Awards, and the Red House Children’s Book Award. The police were watching Naples, because of various criminals that, they suspected, would also be interested in the diamonds, and would be tailing him so they could inquire about the diamonds. Trading Address (Warehouse) Unit E, Vulcan Business Complex, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EB. This book is in good condition - ex-library with one stamp on rfep; remains of borrowing sheet and stamp on ffep; stamp on half title and title pages; pages tanned; remainder mark on bottom edge; top and front edges a little dirty. If you go into the novel expecting something special you will be greatly disappointed, however if you're looking for something quick and entertaining to read on a Sunday afternoon I would highly recommend it.
