About this deal

Fujifilm 200 is a 200-speed colour film, forgiving with highlights and known for providing reliable results across different lighting situations. A few of the more boutique films I’ve reviewed on here are synonymous with specific types of photography; either by design or by how the herd has taken to shooting them. Designed for flexibility and ease of use, Fujifilm 200 35mm colour film works equally well outdoors in daylight or indoors with flash.

We and our partners use technologies, such as cookies, to recognize you and show you more of what you like. Instead of degrading it for not being a special colour negative film like a Kodak Ektar 100 or a Portra 400, I like to recognise it for what it is. In my experience, C200 gives you the Fuji greens and reds in heaps, along with a lower grain and clearer image than Superia has given me. Anything that isn’t as you would expect, we then make a note of and show this in the condition notes on the page. That being said, because of it's love of reds to yellows, it works superbly well for sunset photography and the richness of its greens mean it's ideal for foliage photography. Typical for all Fujifilm films the differentiation of green tones is very good and the rendition of sky blue is excellent. Whether you're shooting natural-looking portraits or simply indulging in the joy of analog photography, the Fujifilm Fujicolor 200 EC 135-36 Film is an excellent choice. But I used the same lens on both cameras for the medium and telephoto focal lengths: a Nikkor 50mm f/1.

It won't beat slide film or more professional grade film but together with a good lens - detailed shots are possible. further refined sharpness" that will deliver "the kind of image quality and clarity you expect from ISO100 films". Whether you're photographing outdoors in daylight or capturing indoor moments with flash, it delivers exceptional results. Most of that feedback was constructive and helpful, so I thank all of you who sent me comments about that comparison. The colour reproduction, contrast range and grain structure are all good and suitable for both everyday and serious photography. When it came to shooting the comparison between Fuji 200 and Gold 200, I decided to switch the workflow a little bit. It's focus on traditional film has waned (giving rise to the nickname "FujiNOTfilm") - discontinuing several lines which has caused understandable upset among loyal users and planning to cut several more. This is not a contrasty film, and the colours seem muted, cool, giving a calm effect to ordinary scenes. I've heard some say this is merely repackaged Gold, and it may be, but I am yet to shoot any Gold so couldn't compare.
