I thought that was the turning point for me, but the next chapter literally starts with "the fire has gone out" and that's how I felt with the romance too 😬. She wants to take it back over while their land is vulnerable, and while she’s a detestable character, I could get behind her not just laying around and isn’t afraid to be the change. Eu adorei o segundo livro de Plated Prisioner, a gente passa um pouco de nervoso com a cabecinha fechada da Auren, mas ver a interação dela com os novos personagens valeu a pena. The story by this point really branches off and becomes it’s own thing from the original tale of Midas and his power, and with that comes a more interesting and unpredictable story to keep you guessing as to what could possibly happen next! I like it actually – Auren has been used and abused by someone she loves/d and who claims to love her but really has other reasons and she needs to reclaim herself.I spent the whole book SURE of it, stumbled a little bit when Commander Rip and King Rot were in the same room (but held on to the small details that made me think Rip was a decoy), but the confirmation at the very end? They breathe dust and dirt, the desolation in minds and homes, the collapse and change, but their form is so strong that something new arises. I know there's still a chance she'll grow on me, but it hasn't happened yet, so she better do something really awesome soon.
