Holga Cameras have a cult following amongst those who want to leave the age of digital photography behind. This helps me get even sharper images than the traditional plastic lens Holga and allows me to photograph in lower light situations. However, once the camera went into production, vignetting (darkening of the corners of the finished photograph) occurred when the camera was modified to a 6×6 format. We'll take a look behind the scenes on some of my creative projects, completely unscientific and subjective camera, lens and film reviews and most importantly photographs!

The unpredictable light leaks along with the softness and vignettes in the corners became desired rather than shunned, and the signature retro, surreal, and dreamlike Holga look they produce has endured ever since. In this respect, the Holga became the successor to the Diana and other toy cameras previously used in such work. Between the cost of the film/processing, and the time and effort it takes to shoot the pictures, it just isn’t worth it to have the film ruined by the camera. These were so well made that Agfa got interested and had Lee and his company produce them on their behalf.
