About this deal

A love that walks throughthe crowd of haunting spectators and up to a Roman guard waitingwith a hammer and a bag of nails. Loveology uses cookies and similar technologies to provide you with our services, enhance the performance and functionality of our services, analyze the use of our products and services, and assist with our advertising and marketing efforts. If you're wondering what the Bible says about these topics and how to love others well, you'll find that clearly signposted. At this point in my story, I was awash in feelings of romantic love—attraction, tension, mystery, allure.

The first song (Adam's poem in Genesis 2), and the longestsong ( Song of Songs ) are both celebrations of romantic love. This is a book for singles, engaged couples, and the newly married--both inside and outside the church--who want to learn what the Scriptures have to say about sexuality and relationships. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for ahava is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It's well written for that style, though I spent the majority of my time wondering what John Mark's unique voice would sound like.My grandparents on my mother's side have been married for sixty years this summer, but a few months ago the doctor found a tumor on my grandma's brain. With an autobiographical thread that turns a book into a story, pastor and speaker John Mark Comer shares about what is right in male/female relationships—what God intended in the Garden.

John Mark Comer is the founding pastor at Bridgetown Church, director and teacher of Practicing the Way, and the New York Times bestselling author of Live No Lies and other books.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. This may have been a nice book, but you should be able to trust the author knows what he's talking about. Comer thinks it's only worth reading as love poetry, and, in the process, draws some dodgy gender theology from the poem (do not arouse that love! The reason why people think it's 50% is because that statistic came from couples who were ALREADY GOING TO MARITAL COUNSELING.

My grandparents on my mother's side have been married for sixtyyears this summer, but a few months ago the doctor found a tumoron my grandma's brain. It settles for pat explanations of intricate realities and easy evaluations of perplexing experiences. He just laid down (based on his knowledge of the Bible and what not) how he understands God created love, relationships, sex, marriage etc and what that looks like in the world today. Different career choices include becoming a Love and Relationship Coach for men, women and couples, a Dating Coach or Dating Consultant for matchmaking sites, an Intimacy Coach to help people with their love lives between the sheets, a Tantra expert and more! Rayah is when you want to get out of town, spend time together, talk, play, goof off, and just do life shoulder to shoulder.

Also, long quotes from the Bible (Genesis 2:15-25 and Proverbs 8) serve as front and back bookends for the body of the book. John's definition of love is blatant and clear-cut—"This is love: notthat we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as anatoning sacrifice for our sins. There is a day coming when you will step into a world where chaos and entropy of the fall are undone, and you will live forever in a body that is remade through a cosmic act of God… on that day you will be lonely for the last time. I am a big fan of John Mark Comer’s books and how he has such a great way of telling people the truth without being condescending about it.

In the following chapter he tacitly introduces the counterargument that gender roles are a result of the Fall, but dismisses it without much explanation. LU offers Love Coach, Sexpert, and Relationship Coach Certification where you can transform the lives of singles and couples to attract a loving mate or maintain a romantic relationship. Rather than picking a side and barraging you with supporting evidence, Comer gently expresses his beliefs and centers the conversation around bigger issues that plague our Sunday services.Who are tired of Hollywood's message (sex is God), and the church's message (sex is sin), and know there has to be an "Option C". But the tone wouldn’t bother me so much if he were preaching instead of writing, so I imagine listening to a sermon rather than reading a book and I get over it a bit.
