The last part of the story is more straightforward and linear, showing the evolution of the artist himself in the process (it did take him ten years to complete the story). Full of the strutting masculinity, gross misogyny (there are only a handful of women in this and Arkwright is sleeping with most of them), heavy-handed grimness-for-grimness's sake and hilariously pretentious nods to mysticism and ancient religion.

As someone who's only really familiar with his work through Grandville and its sequels, this is very different indeed!The sourcebook has all you need to run adventures in the Talbotverse, but you'll still need the Mythras Core Rulebook for the basic game engine. Between 1987 and 1989 Talbot completed the story, which was published as a series of nine standard comic books by Valkyrie Press, followed, at readers' request, by a tenth issue, titled ARKeology, containing articles about the history and production of the comic and some extended back story and character information. With the digital technology at their disposal and a genuine love of the original, I’m very much looking forward to the series.
