These new Rapid VCOIL Complete Thread Repair Kits come with everything you need and work the same as Recoil and Helicoil kits.

The flexibility of our inserts enhances load bearing capacity by deflecting the residual forces into a helical direction, which is dispersed into the wall of the tapped hole. The high performance internal thread provided by our wire inserts is far stronger than most parent materials, and is also heat, corrosion, and wear resistant too. Compatible with Recoil and Helicoil Kits these VCOIL Wire Thread Inserts are manufactured from high quality chromium nickel stainless steel, to aircraft and aerospace standards. This assembled insert accommodates any standard bolt or screw (MIL-S-7742) and MIL-S8879 (UNJ controlled radius root) male threaded members.These VCOIL kits include the correct size drill to prepare for tapping up to M12 (1/2") Check that the thread and pitch of the tap and the bolt match. Our standard free running wire thread inserts are produced from Austenitic Stainless Steel wire (304/A2 Stainless), which is cold drawn (profiled) to form a diamond-shaped wire.

During installation the inserting tool applies torque to the tang reducing the diameter of the leading coil permitting it to enter the tapped thread. Once fitted, the action of the radial pressure between the insertï¾’s coils and flanks of the tapped hole holds them in place securely. Thread repair kit includes inserts for repairing tapped holes which have been stripped or damaged due to wear, corrosion and over-torque.
