Amaro Montenegro is a traditional Italian bitters, still distilled in Bologna, where it’s made with the same top-secret blend of 40 herbs, botanicals, and spices, including vanilla and orange peels. Stanislao traveled from continent to continent collecting 40 rinds, woods, seeds, rhizomes, flowers, fruits, citrus peels, roots, stems and leaves. Amaro are traditionally made in Italy by macerating a (usually secret) recipe of herbs, roots, barks, spices, flowers, citrus peels and other botanicals in either neutral spirit, brandy or wine. Its strong bitter flavour is artichoke based but is enriched by a mixture of 13 different herbs, plants and roots, bringing out heady botanical aromas and flavours. Having been previously put off amaro by some in-your-face aggressively bitter options, trying this was a wonderful reintroduction. Years later, when the glamorous Princess Elena of Montenegro married the future King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel III, Stanislao decided to dedicate his elixir to Her Royal Highness. Amaro Montenegro has a distinct and perfectly balanced flavour thanks to its 40 botanicals from all over the world. Amaro is both the Italian word for bitter and the name of a bittersweet style of liqueurs traditionally from Italy. In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer. Ingredients undergo a meticulous selection process with only the rarest and most prized herbs composing the original recipe, giving Amaro Montenegro its distinctive taste. It was invented in 1895 by Stanislao Cobianchi, named after Princess Elena of Montenegro who married the future king of Italy.

Many enjoy Stone's on its own or over ice, but it is most famously drunk as a 'Whisky Mac' when mixed with whisky. Thanks to the careful selection of 40 herbs and botanicals chosen in accordance with the closely-guarded recipe, Amaro Montenegro's taste is characterized by a pleasing blend of sweet and bitter notes. Amaro Montenegro tastes more floral than most amari: it’s light and bittersweet with notes of orange a distinct rose petal finish. Maraschino Luxardo is a classic Italian liqueur and is presented in it's traditional way, rafia covered bottle and all. The infusion is filtered and then sweetened with beet sugar and aged in cask or bottle, often for years. Known as a great all-rounder Peychaud’s can be mixed with virtually anything to create a complex flavour profile.
