About this deal

Detective Ffion Morgan has to put aside what she's watched on screen, and find out who these people really are - knowing she can't trust any of them. To add to the drama one contestant goes missing and in comes DC Ffion Morgan and when a murder happens that they hear shouts play out in real time who is the culprit? This is a book that is great for you holiday and I do recommend you read the first book The Last Party but you will be ok if you haven't read this. This mystery’s pace takes a while to ramp up, but DC Ffion Morgan is ready with the Exposure that could cost her everything.

What they thought was a show in the vein of Survivor was, in reality, a show that would expose their deep, dark secrets. Je maakt ook steeds sprongen in de tijd, dus je moet bij elk hoofdstuk goed kijken om welke dag het gaat én vanuit welk personage je leest. The contestants also pique her interest, including Ffion's drinking buddy, postal worker Ceri Jones, who is competing against Pam Butler, an authoritative headteacher, Aliyah Brown, a beautiful childcare practitioner, Jason Shenton, a flirting, charming firefighter, Henry Moore, a tall, dark-haired, wise accountant, Lucas Taylor, the reverend with dark secrets, and Ryan Francis, a man with a troubled past.

Soon, a murder in the camp turns the cameras off, and Ffion realizes that this is a very difficult case to solve. Clare Mackintosh is the multi-award-winning author of New York Times bestseller I LET YOU GO, and Sunday Times bestsellers I SEE YOU, LET ME LIE, AFTER THE END, HOSTAGE, THE LAST PARTY and A GAME OF LIES. After the End was published in 2019 and became an instant Sunday Times bestseller, and in 2021 Hostage flew straight into the top ten. Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for sharing this amazing book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts. There is also the not so smooth developing relationship between Ffion and Leo, another detective we met in the first book in this series.

His psyche couldn’t take the turn the producer decided on and he’s off into the mountains, a danger to himself and others. Deeply rooted in the glorious Welsh countryside, Ffion is the sparky bilingual cop you didn't know you needed and now she's investigating a death in a reality game show, but is it a game or a trap? There's some great world building/family secrets/personal details in TLP, and AGOL expands on those a bit. With the contestants set up in a Welsh woodland camp (expect a few Welsh names and sentances) Miles then announces a new game plan. I am the biggest Clare Mackintosh fan and as such, I’m thrilled to report that A Game of Lies was a total winner for me.I felt this book had the right about of twists involved in the plot, and it was timed well- this gives the impression that Mackintosh is conscious about her plot and timing. DC Ffion Morgan lives with her mother in the village of Cwn Coed and knows almost everybody in her patch. The first book in the series was ok in as much as I wanted to read to the end but only because I was mildly intrigued to see what would happen.

Detective Ffion Morgan has to put aside what she watched on screen and find out who these people really are - knowing she can't trust any of them. Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for providing me with an advance copy of this book to review. I enjoyed the format of this one, it has a reality television series as the main point of the plot and throughout the book we get different points of view from the contestants. A Game of Lies is an aptly titled police procedural about seven reality TV contestants who become suspects in a murder. Instead of building rafts and braiding bamboo (which they probably don’t have in Wales but roll with me here), they find out that each of them has a secret. When one of the contestants goes missing before the revelation process, turning it into a murder mystery, the authorities get involved in the investigation.

We are back in Wales where a reality TV ahow incites murder and mayhem, bringing Ffion and Leo back together to investigate. I received a free copy of, A Game of Lies, by Clare Mackintosh, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.Het leugenspel draait in eerste instantie een tijdlang om de zoektocht naar een vermiste deelnemer van de realityshow Exposure.
