About this deal

Even though I was hospitalized for a month I did not have any psychotherapy or simple explanation of what is going on with me. Packed full of real emotion and many twists, turns and instances of backstabbing, this book encapsulates why we should all think things through a little more before proceeding as the consequences have the potential to be catastrophic.

Even the least sympathetic ones still had well fleshed out characters and the ending of the story (with a twist I didn’t quite see coming) was really satisfying. The premise was heartbreaking while the characters were all deeply flawed and tainted with duplicity yet oddly compelling and continually pricking at my curiosity.

If you feel guilty for not spending enough time with friends, you might make more of an effort to connect. My absolute dread in reading psychological domestic fiction is that nine times out of ten- and I do keep a count now- some sicko just has to mutilate and kill a cat!

It will play with your emotions and mess with your mind as you try to figure everything out and believe me when I tell you that your mind will be totally blown! I am not going to say anymore as I don’t want to give the plot away, but this is a very riveting and powerful story.Following on from her humorous murder mystery series, the Cora Baxter Mysteries (The Dead Dog Day, The Deadline and The Development) published by Accent Press, Jackie Kabler has taken a slight change in direction. She is awaiting trial for what happens but during this time she starts to get memory flashbacks to that tragic day . It was in the disgusted glances that people were giving her and the shame that she felt that made me so eager to find out what it was she had done.

The only way to move beyond this and gain the self-esteem to allow ourselves to be loved is to process the past, not just ‘decide’ to make peace with it, but really dive deep and process. The only thing I know about feeling guilty is that you prone to being bullied because you cannot defend yourself. It came out of nowhere; there were no hints of Flora being this way inclined at all - oh by the way she’s a psychopath all of a sudden even though throughout the book there’s no hints of it on her character. Secondly, to explain that trauma as a child can mean that our perspective narrows to only see the bad things, because we are always on the lookout for new danger. The ridiculous amount of inane, uninteresting and irrelevant details that add nothing to the book other than to pad it out.I hate it, good thing my narcissist knows how to help me do it, or I would be a nervous wreck all the time. Instead of clinging to guilt and punishing yourself after an honest mistake, remember: No one does everything right all the time. She can't remember exactly what happened that day but everyone she trusts keep insisting that it was her fault and they wouldn't lie to her. This desperate need to please to the extent we lose who we are generally comes from childhood, and the ways you were parented, or possibly even childhood difficulties and trauma. I was completely gripped in this story, told from various viewpoints, about a mother's worst nightmare.

I could sense her own need and desperation to get to the bottom of it, even if it did prove if she was guilty. i know I’ve always done things for people to like me and to pa attention to me without knowing that time but now i realised it.This novel moves at a steady pace, full of twists and turns, totally gripping the reader for the suspense ride from beginning to end. Am I Guilty rises and falls at the perfect pace, leaving you tense and eager to find out A) what is going to happen, B) why and C) who? She can't remember just what happened to her child, Zander, but he's dead and she's being blamed for his death .
