I got the XS, and it fits fine but it also has a lot of give so potentially a small size 8 could fit into the XS.

Also, if you don't wear anything under the top the sew on hospital style patches are well placed to stop anything poking through but we actually both felt it looked nicer with some underwear on underneath it, but it is slightly see thru so if you are wearing it to a party consider what you do wear underneath.
