About this deal

The cooperation of the multi-planetary crew operating Adamski's space ships is no doubt meant to provide an example encouraging international cooperation among earthlings, but it also adumbrates the multicultural crew on the TV series Star Trek. Contents: Definition of Cosmic Philosophy, Introduction - The Truth About Truth, Magnificent Perception, Perception and Conception, What Is Consciousness? To punctuate his point, and to show that he had picked up at least one word of English, the alien added, “Boom! The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is circling the Red God right now, discovering more and more astonishing information every day; and still they've seen only a tiny fraction of it.

In his earlier book, Flying Saucers Have Landed, which I haven't read, Adamski, after sighting many airborne flying saucers, claimed to have seen one land in the California desert and, on approaching, encountered a young man with long blonde hair who explained he and the space ship came from "the planet we know as Venus". However, the way things are nowadays with everything classified as security, for the time being they must remain in the shadow. George Adamski stands in front of a painting by Gay Betts depicting the Venusian space pilot he met in the Mojave Desert, California. Its genesis had been Leslie chancing upon a copy of the 1896 book The Story of Atlantis and the Lost Lemuria by William Scott-Elliot in a friend's library. It was during this meeting that Adamski is said to have taken a now famous photograph of Orthon's Venusian scout ship using his 6-inch (150 mm) telescope.

But then you have what are otherwise brilliant men like Carl Sagan and Ray Bradbury, on both ends of the science and science fiction spectrum as well, who were sure there was life out there in the mathematical potential of millions of Earth-like planets and worlds, but there just aren't "Martians". Once again we can see how popular culture was seeping into our collective subconscious, and changing how we perceive the world. His frequently published photograph from 1952, depicts an object which has been variously identified as the top of a chicken brooder or a streetlight.

Following his marriage Adamski moved west, doing maintenance work in Yellowstone National Park and working in an Oregon flour mill and a California concrete factory. At the same time I looked round to reassure myself that we were both in full sight of my companions. And craziest of all, to the bulk of the human race, are Adamski's Flying Saucers with human-like people from Venus and Saturn, all the planets, and our Moon, with cities on them and running rivers and people who live a thousand years!
