About this deal

And while this bread is nowhere near as amazing as my Wholemeal Bread (I even have a bread-machine version, a Vegan bread-machine version and a Vegan hand-baked version), it’s actually still better than many other Doves Gluten Free Brown Bread Flour recipes. Freee were one of the first companies to introduce Gluten Free Flour to the UK and now proud to be the gluten free community's favourite. I just followed my normal bread making recipe and added a teasp of bicarbonate of soda to help the rising. As we are constantly reviewing and developing our products to meet our consumer needs, consumers, particularly those that suffer from allergies and intolerances, should always check product labelling, warnings, and directions provided with the product that is delivered, prior to use or consumption. Invert a large mixing bowl over the top of the tin and leave until the dough has risen to 7mm/1/4" below the top of the tin, about 60-90 minutes.

Unfortunately my hand slipped when I was adding the gelatine so ended up with 17g instead of 7g, so they didn't rise quite as beautifully as when I made it in the loaf tin – still tasty though. We can tell you what's been going on and let you know if we have any great deals or discounts available - we've usually got something. The culprit ingredient was the Carob in the flour - I am allergic to peanuts and soya and Carob is a relative to these, a legume. Combine the brown bread ingredients with the following additional ingredients to make a delicious fruited bread. Not sure if it was coincidence but I was 100g short of flour for the last loaf I made so substituted with 100g of the pizza base mix.Doves, your gluten free brown flour is a joke, this is the second batch of 6 pks that I have purchased from you, I thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt based on your "new recipe" but no, still a complete waste of time, ingredients and money. As I do not have this problem with the white flour, my conclusion is this brown flour is unfit for purpose. Add the brown gluten free bread flour, xanthan gum, salt and mixed seeds to a large mixing bowl and stir to mix together.

That’s due to a too-low hydration ratio, which can be caused by a number of things, among them not using the proper flour blend (one that’s unbalanced and absorbs too much moisture), overmeasuring your flour blend by not measuring by weight, undermeasuring the water or other liquid. I think it should work, as long as you use a stand mixer to vigorously mix the ingredients and let it rise fully, but I’m afraid I don’t know for sure! I’m not going to make any absurd claims: this bread is best eaten fresh on the day - or refreshed in the oven after that. The result of many trials and bakes was this Brown Bread Flour which has made numerous delicious loaves ever since.I will not be using 3 again again (large loaf)as it turns out just like old fashioned Hovis and you really would not notice the difference.
