About this deal

I listened to the penguin audio version of this book and wasn’t as impressed with the presentation of that. He then scored England's two goals in the next fixture after coming on as a second-half substitute in the 2–0 defeat of Andorra in the opening match for 2010 World Cup qualifying. Just as there are books being written to be turned into screenplays, there are definitely books that are written to be listened to as opposed to read.

His debut goal came on 3 November in a 4–3 home win against Barnsley, a 20 yards (18 m) free-kick which put Coventry 4-2 up.Love the content but I am disappointed the 4 hours I have listened to has barely had any Crouch narration unlike his other books. It is a cautionary tale of the pitfalls of life after the final whistle when the ridiculous amounts of money disappear as quickly as the chants from the adoring crowds. In conclusion I found this to once again be a funny, warm hearted, easily read book delivered with typical Peter Crouch style, which broaches the subject of footballers in their post-retirement life. Cole made his first 2009–10 Premier League appearance for Chelsea against Blackburn Rovers, playing in attacking midfield in a 5–0 win. A surprisingly good read considering that I am not a great football fan but I have to say I enjoyed this book enormously.

Also my copy had be inexplicably partially censored with some expletives ‘bleeped out’, but then later on that same expletive is left untouched. On 29 November, Cole made his first start for Villa away to Burnley, opening the scoring in a 1–1 draw.It is sobering to learn that ‘around 40% of ex players go bankrupt in the first 5 years after quitting, a 3rd get divorced. They live their lives in the glaring media spotlight, yet only really develop one life skill - how to kick a ball better. So walk with me into the dressing-room, to find out which players refuse to touch a football before a game, to discover why a load of millionaires never have any shower-gel, and to hear what Cristiano Ronaldo says when he looks at himself in the mirror. He was the sixth player signed after the club's takeover by billionaire Roman Abramovich, amongst those was his former West Ham teammate Glen Johnson. In the first half of the 2005–06 season, Cole secured himself in the Chelsea first-team lineup, ahead of Shaun Wright-Phillips and Damien Duff.
