About this deal
Happily I was wrong, the drivers used in the KS1 and 2 are not the same and the KS1 is faster, cleaner, and generally better behaved than its sibling.
With the Storm having safe curves and no extreme protrusions, I find them comfortable for long periods of time before introducing ear fatigue. I’ll be perfectly honest, the P05 is a bit out of the KB01’s league in many respects but they aren’t so far apart that it doesn’t warrant a quick comparison to better explain the KB01.The KS2 are fun, vivid, well-balanced and sound very natural to me, as well as energetic when things get bassy. As CHIFI collectors know, the BLON BL-03’s fit is very famous (or rather infamous) due to the too short nozzle, requiring most folks to use aftermarket longer nozzles or spacer mods.
I’m not a huge fan of the treble tuning as that 9kHz spike hits precisely at a point where I am sensitive and to my ear, that needs some EQ to be usable. Overall technicalities of KB Ear Storm are definitely average which is quite norm on the ultra-budget segment. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I have reviewed a few KBear iems of late, namely the Qinglong, Rosefinch, Dumpling, and the Ink among others and each has their own particular tuning. On imaging, it portrays a more 2-channel stereo presentation as I was able to locate the positioning of vocals and instruments on both left and right. However, the really fine stuff, the finer details, the micro-details, the stuff that gets looked for in critical listening has a bit harder time being illuminated to the surface.
