If you take care of your pad and use it inside your tent, this pad will probably work really well for you. In warm months, this is not an issue but in cold weather, it's nice to have a bit of extra length for your bag to sit on top of. I use this car camping and for very short overnight backpacks, and only in combination with the Static V. When deflating the sleeping pad, it took me around 3-5 minutes to get the air out, roll it up, and put it back in the stuff sack, which was all really easy. I often suck air out to fully deflate it, but in the end I haven't found this to be a major problem and am very happy with the pad.The exclusive V-Chambers and dynamic side rails also limit the movement of air, helping warmth stay closer to the top of the pad—meaning closer to you. This is something I found out the hard way that I needed after turning up to a full hut just on dark. With features like a rectangular shape, high R-value, and durable polyester material, these insulated sleeping pads provide comfort and insulation. I placed it in my two-person backpacking tent (the kind that claim they’re for two people but really fit one person and their stuff) and it was a perfect fit, leaving about a foot at the entrance for my backpack. This didn’t matter much in Hawaii — an extra warm pad won’t make you hot, like an extra warm sleeping bag — but the first backpacking trip I used it on was in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California.
