I saw this book on Tiktok as many others have, I even sent it to my own book club and friends to read (before reading) because come on the story of Shawn was touching and heart warming. I hope there are others like this coming, but perhaps it would be better if the book remains a one off and not one of many, it has a stand-alone quality that I particularly like.

Although it has heavier themes in like murder, suicide and some violence this manages to stay light hearted and not too serious. It was a break in typical content from the creator, whose viewers averaged in the low thousands for videos that primarily featured his home renovation projects.I’m a 49 year old woman who enjoyed harry potters, twilights, terry pratchetts discworld and this book was just the kind of I like. I loved this book so much, I'm tempted to read it all over again to catch all the little things I must have missed this first time around. Overall, “Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor” is a well-written and engaging teen fiction mystery with a paranormal twist. His goal was certainly achieved—within three days, the video had amassed over 17 million views and received comments from people around the world interested in purchasing Warner’s novel.

I found this book through the same heartwarming TikTok tale so many have and I love that story; it's beautiful seeing people support one another.Ty, Leigh's father's friend, describes being disappointed in Leigh and having the urge to "put her over his knee and spank her" which again I think was weird, unnecessary, and added nothing to the plot.

I feel it’s important to give an honest review and include a few content warnings to help parents decide if their child should read this as the intended age range feels like 13+. While TikTok may have helped Leigh Howard jump to the top of the charts, its reviews are keeping it there. Before professionally turning his hand to writing, Shawn was a paratrooper, a pediatric therapist, and an engineer. There is also a typo, (the instead of they), which is a personal pet peeve of mine and probably doesn't bother other readers.As Leigh delves deeper into the mystery, she uncovers a web of organized crime and betrayal that puts her in danger.
