The Day Flash mode puts out 800 lumens and is top notch for riding in daytime traffic; EVERYONE notices you! Annoyingly, though, Blast sits between six others in the normal cycle of modes rather than in the Race Mode. Its co-moulded construction is more compact, but still boasts five LEDs for up to 150 lumens of output. Its machined aluminum body and integrated cooling fins provide lightweight durability and its side cutouts offer 180° visibility. An adapter is supplied to fit smaller diameter round bars but when removed I had no trouble fitting it to wider aero profile handlebars.

I don’t see the need for so many modes, though, and this does mean you’re potentially seven presses of that button away from the next mode you’ll need. Personally, I found the operating switch easily accessible and the addition of a cable to operate it doesn't strike me as a huge advantage. But this right is limited to 30 days from the date you took ownership of the goods (this could be the date of purchase or the date the goods were delivered to you - whichever is later).Great for both day and night riding; gets you seen on busy urban roads in the daylight and lets you see on the darkest of lanes.

USB RECHARGEABLE - Keep these lights topped up between rides with the included micro-USB cable, with quick recharge times to make sure you get your lights charged between rides. I found this twist useful when adding my Garmin to the cockpit; I could twist the light temporarily to engage my Edge and then turn it back to a central position. The settings button performs much better than the last one which was very random and I could not always get the desired setting i. While that sounds like a potentially irritating amount of modes to scroll through in an emergency, holding the power button down for five seconds engages ‘Race mode’ with only ‘Overdrive’ and ‘Economy’ available. The Micro Drive Pro 800XL has up to 800 lumens of output and a powerful Daytime Flash mode, this cycling LED light is impressive day or night. I prefer the 400-lumen Blast mode, which is enough on familiar roads (plus, knowing I have four hours to play with is more comforting). The generational debate is always easy to solve: the riders of our youth are always better than the riders of today.

The Micro Drive Pro 800XL is Remote Switch compatible, available in Black or Silver and comes with a versatile and secure mounting strap for your bike. The 800 lumen, max power ‘Overdrive’ setting is adequate for unlit back-road riding at a reasonable speed, too. Lezyne’s Micro Drive Pro 800XL is the bottom rung of its ‘Performance’ range (less powerful lights are in the ‘Sport’ range) and a good beam pattern means it’s just about bright enough for back road riding.
