About this deal

I’m very grateful to Octopus and The HHB Agency for believing that I could put that message into my own original recipe book.

I remember trying a Cinnabon in Leicester Square when I was younger and promising myself I would learn how to recreate it - I’m not saying it’s exactly the same but I’m not far off. From West Sussex, Lottie was previously a pantomime Producer but ventured into the culinary arts when she featured as a contestant on The Great British Bake off in 2020.

Today's panelists are WAMC's Alan Chartock, Publisher Emeritus of The Daily Freeman Ira Fusfeld, Tetherless World Professor of Computer, Web and Cognitive Sciences at RPI and Founding Director of the Future of Computing Institute at RPI Jim Hendler, and Vice President for Editorial Development at the New York Press Association Judy Patrick. From easy cookies and puddings to more elaborate cakes and pastries, each recipe in this book will score points where it matters the most—on the taste buds.

Now, she spends most of her time encouraging other people to give baking a go, posting bake-along videos and sharing original recipes online.

It is this unusual home set-up that is at the heart of her relationship with cooking and baking: Lottie makes food that tastes good for the people she loves. I get that she was trying to make it accessible for all, but I wish that would have been included in parentheses. Bedlow added: “There is so much about baking that can feel intimidating but, if you love eating as much as I do, making your own bakes is the best experience. Lottie is based on the south coast where she lives with family, and it is this that's at the heart of her relationship with cooking and baking: Lottie likes to make food that tastes good for the people she loves.

A 32-year-old pantomime producer with a degree in animal behavior studies, Lottie lives with her aunt, uncle, and teenage cousins on the English coast. Now, I would get upset if something wasn’t quite right and that would have to stay behind and not be given to others, lol. Big exam, AP tests coming up, the kitchen would be filled that weekend with all sorts of desserts to be given to friends and family. The marvellous combination of Lottie’s sharp wit and tempting recipes means you learn how to tackle key skills without even noticing – you’re too busy eating. Brimming with the Great British Bake Off star Lottie Bedlow’s trademark humour, Baking Imperfect is a big-hearted baking guide for the faint-hearted, featuring mouthwatering treats from fool proof custard to Irish stout cake. Her Lancastrian great-grandmother was a passionate cake-baker passing on the genes and sharing the love of baking with Lottie. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Each recipe highlights potential pitfalls, with notes on what to look out for and how to find a fix. The pictures are lovely - showcasing Lottie's trademark imperfectly perfect style, and when she summs it all up by saying, "When things go a bit wrong. Expect recipes such as triple chocolate and salted caramel-centred cookies, "sin-amon rolls", "minimal faff brioche" and "foolproof custard".
