This is something that is quite important to me in a cookbook, and the first thing I noted when I cracked this one open was how few pictures there are.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Here to show you that you can still indulge in bakes, puddings and sweet treats, this collection of lighter recipes is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. She has been a judge on the BBC One (originally BBC Two) television programme The Great British Bake Off since its launch in 2010.

Cut each cherry in half then rinse in very hot water to remove the extra sugar syrup, then let them dry on paper towels before you add them to your cake.It is in very poor condition, the spine is damaged and the glue has come unattached the full length of the book, the pages all appear to be intact.

I can see this being given to someone just getting started, either with baking or moving out on their own for the first time. This means there is always something from the book you want to make as the recipes have great variety! One negative comment I have about the Baking Bible is that not all the recipes have corresponding photos to show what the final bake should look like! This really is a baking bible and a staple on the cookbook shelf for any fans of baking or Mary Berry!

This texture-packed loaf can be found in the chapter on bread, and is a lovely recipe to pull out as an accompaniment for dinner party cheese boards or for topping with cream cheese and smoked salmon at a weekend brunch.
