Creating rhubarb gin involves infusing gin with rhubarb, often along with other ingredients such as vanilla or berries, to balance the tartness and sugar to add sweetness. Palate: Softly tangy with lots of rhubarb notes, with a good kick of spicy juniper coming along later on. It not only serves as a nostalgic nod to the cherished use of rhubarb in British cuisine but also highlights the adventurous spirit of the UK’s gin producers, continuously seeking to intrigue and delight palates with innovative flavour combinations. Made with care in the leafy boroughs of south-west London at our new purpose-built distillery in Kingston upon Thames.

Sipsmith Vintage Sloe Gin, see's Dartmoor sloes rested upon their classic London Dry Gin for a 3 month maceration period. Rhubarb gin: a libation that marries the quintessentially British ingredient, rhubarb, with one of the nation’s most beloved spirits, gin. Lemongrass and hibiscus come together with timeless juniper berries to create a lingering and seriously smooth London dry gin. All produced in their purpose-built Kingston distillery, their Premium London Dry is described as a ‘ lingering and seriously smooth London dry gin’.

The rhubarb can be cooked down into a syrup before being combined with the gin, or it might be used raw, often depending on the desired flavour outcome. A traditional-style London dry gin, there's lots of juniper and citrus, alongside floral hints of hibiscus and lemongrass, imparting a fresh, spring-esque brightness to the flavour profile. Award-winning (Global Gin Masters 2022), small-batch, hand-crafted gins, “inspired by the buzzing contemporary culture of Hampton Court”. A traditional Pilsner beer, we used two popular hops in pilsners, Herkules and Saaz, which impart a light bitterness and a peppery, herby aroma. Edinburgh Raspberry Gin is a 40% abv expression of our much-celebrated flavour pioneer, Raspberry Gin Liqueur.

This wonderful concoction combines traditionally English rhubarb, brilliant pink grapefruit, and the enduring appeal of juniper berries. Some distilleries may use rhubarb in the distillation process itself, whilst others might prefer to infuse it post-distillation. This zesty gin is distilled with fresh Sicilian lemon peel, a flattering of Kaffir lime leaves and fragrant lemongrass. For those who prefer their drinks on the sweeter side, rhubarb gin can be used in cocktails like a Rhubarb Fizz – combining rhubarb gin with lemon juice, simple syrup, and soda water, or perhaps a Rhubarb Martini, where it's mixed with vermouth and garnished with a rhubarb ribbon.

Rhubarb gin mirrors a kind of British innovation, honouring traditional tastes while daring to explore new horizons. Florals and smoke - so poignant in that lovely whisky, like TS Eliot’s footfalls and echoes and dead leaves in Burnt Norton. Everyone is welcome in a Big Smoke pub, and you can always expect a cracking range of independent beers, a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings, and freshly prepared, home-cooked food. Using natural botanicals sourced from across the globe, weve kept local tradition alive with a zingy citrus body complimented by delicate floral aromas and a hint of spice. Distinct scents of citrus and lavender notes accompany the botanical sweet aroma (without any added sugars), creating a unique opening to the gin.
