There has been some healthy controversy surrounding them due to a few studies finding paraben presence in breast tumours and breast tissue. I picked up the Biossance Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 a few weeks ago and only just now started getting into it.

Powerfully invisible broad-spectrum, mineral SPF 30 protects even the most sensitive skin like you’ve never seen—literally. It also helps to stabilize oil-water mixes (emulsions), though it does not function as an emulsifier in itself. As someone who uses dozens of sunscreens all characterized as a “light lotion” I could tell right away that it does have a decent amount of oil content in it. It’s not a straight up mineral sunscreen, though, like my all-time fave — the Solara Suncare Time Traveler.
