About this deal

There is no record of the author’s relative working for the German press as stated and the language and “voice” of the supposed interviewees does not line up with the era.

Based on interviews of German soldiers who fought in France on June 6 1944, it's a surprisingly dispassionate series of accounts. There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! The interviews were actually done by the author's father, who was a journalist for the Reich during the war, and wrote propaganda pieces for German magazines to improve morale.

Prince Andrew is spotted riding his horse in Windsor after it was claimed mystery Parisian art dealer who. For the most part it seemed they were on pretty friendly terms with the French locals, resulting in not uncommon love affairs and offspring, but horrifying experiences with clandestine French resistance fighters were also described. He also often features on radio; BBC Radio 4, Talk Radio, Newstalk, and in a large number of podcasts, such as ww2podcast.

What we learn here is that for the ordinary drafted German soldier an entirely different world view existed of what the war was actually about (my goodness the French come out of this very badly indeed apart from the very small percentage who genuinely resisted) . However, an author who collected, say, 30 or 40 interviews would be very lucky to find such a range of material. Consider the MyLai massacre, no one spoke about until one soldier who was out of the army and even then they were greeted as traitors. This new paperback edition contains Book One and Book Two of this series, revealing the hidden side of D Day which has fascinated readers around the world.
