Wow and I loved the part where Tara told her mother how impressed she was that she only gave her time and service to others and never once thought of herself. The educational changes being implemented as a result of COVID-19 are changing perspectives about education. I was provided an ARC of Educating and share an extensive review of LaRee’s book on mrsladywordsmith.After much deliberation and hearing some negative stories about graduate school in far-away places, I had almost decided to turn down Purdue’s offer and stay in Utah. There are more intense discussions around the dinner table, with slightly more apocalyptic interpretations of scripture. years of dog training experience as a professional handler/trainer – 30 training owners and their puppies in classes – 20 years dealing with behavioural problems in dogs (almost all of which could have been avoided by educating the puppy! A postal worker who received his high school diploma when he was 90 years old, Richard Hunt inspired LaRee with tales of Roman history as he peeled apples with his daughter. But I don't discount that LaRee's perception of events recounted in both of these books is any less "true" than Tara's recounting of occurrences.

I'm an advocate and lover of said healing modalities, so I found that part of this book interesting and relatable. Don't bother giving this woman the attention and sales numbers to make her feel like she has won, because that is the only reason this book exists. At times, Sutoris’s comments on local cultural norms (such as teaching) seemed over-critical, with teachers and students rarely granted expertise in their local realities. And then there is the rest of the sprawling Westover family, many of whom don’t recognize themselves on the pages of the manuscript that was dropped off anonymously.

I hope and pray that some of Tara's siblings are able to heal and will eventually validate Tara's memories and feelings, but it may only happen after their parents pass away someday- since most of them work for their parent's company and won't bite the hand that feeds them. And as I was reading Tara's book I was struck with how obvious it was that the author was *not* a parent. She was outspoken among her older siblings and usually got her way, according to her sister Valaree.
