About this deal

When we looked at the accuracy of shots with and without “proper” alignment, we did not see strong evidence to support either side.

Essentially this guy used a cup of heavily salted water to make a ball float, then marked the spot that initially rose to the top, then spun the ball randomly to see if that marked spot would favor rising to the top. I'll give you a dime every time it's not up; you give me a dollar every time the blue dot is, in fact, face up when the ball comes to rest. I have used one (checkgo) for the better part of 20 years ( can't remember exactly when I was given it for Christmas). But it was the push and pull shot that seems to find a straighter line after coming off the club that impressed me the most. Simply, the ball seems to fly straighter off of the club and stay in bounds on pushed hits that would normally hit hard and continue another 10 to 15 yards right.

It was a nice sunny day, in the 50's; my son-in-law (Peter) and I were playing golf at The Links at Outlook, in South Berwick, Me. Arah2 ini berlaku buat right handed ya dan dari sisi pemain, kalau left handed arahnya tinggal berlawanan. I do ocasionally get a ball that must really be out of balance as it will have trouble during the spin-up and want to leave the spinner cup. it really kinda bites that you have to use a special marker, I guess it wouldn't be quite so bad if the cost of them was a little more reasonable. From what I understand, the reason for marking the "equator" of a ball was to line up the equator to the direction you want to hit and it would minimize side spin. Each player used their personal driver and hit a total of 28 drives, half with the “Center of Gravity Alignment Line” aimed correctly, half with it aimed incorrectly. I will continue to play with the Check Go marked balls for the next few months and I expect to lower my scores by 2 to 4 strokes per round. It was a pleasure to talk with you today and learn for certain that there is no objection by the USGA regarding us of the Check-Go device.

First, it is absolutely possible that, given certain testing conditions, drives with the center of gravity aligned will fly higher, straighter, and farther.

So I made the following wager with them: If this does NOT work then there should be a 1 in 392 chance that my infamous blue dot will be pointed up when the ball comes to rest in the fairway. To the post about repeated blows causing deformation, well, I don't normally have any one ball in play that long, nor do I have the world's mightiest swing speed. Seems like a nice party trick and I don't mind doing it, but need some explanation why it would help. The other two trials were split – one in favor of the aligned drives, one in favor of non-aligned drives – with differences of 8 and 6 yards, respectively.
