About this deal

That’s combined with Hi-View Engine which uses AI to enhance the image and HDR support to boost contrast. A lot is crammed into a small amount of space, but the design feels relatively unique, which is notable in a flooded television market.

In dim viewing conditions, the black levels were satisfactory but with some noticeable lighter edges to the panel and even if slightly off-axis these black started to look milky and navy, losing the deep black look. It can't get bright enough to overcome glare in a bright room, although it does well in a moderately lit room with its good reflection handling. But it uses a PFS Phosphor panel to give it a wide color gamut, making it almost as colorful as the higher-end model. You’ll find 8-bit + FRC (frame rate control) here instead, which attempts to mimic the larger color palette of 10-bit.Those short of space – or looking for a second set for a bedroom or kitchen – can opt for the 43-inch mode, while those with the means can go big with the 85-incher. It uses the same quantum dot technology, which means it displays a wide range of colors and has remarkable pre-calibration accuracy, so you won't have to get it calibrated to get accurate colors.

We’ve reviewed some Hisense TVs, though nowhere near all of them, but you can learn a lot about a TV from its specs. As you can see, in the most accurate picture mode for D65 white, which is HDR Night, the A7G is only capable of 250 nits brightness with all window sizes. If you’re looking for a lower-cost 4K TV with high-end features, the Hisense 50E7HQTUK might have caught your eye.Mentioned the Samsung S95C OLED in the 'Best QD-OLED' pick, removed the Samsung S95C OLED from the Notable Mentions, added the Samsung S90C OLED instead, and refreshed the text for accuracy and consistency. If you're looking for the cheapest Hisense TV on the market, you're in luck as they have a fantastic cheap model, the Hisense A6/A65K.

I bought a new TV, after a good 5 years using a 32” 1080p ‘dumb’ TV, I finally upgraded to this, a 50” 4K TV from HISENSE. Dolby Vision was the best performer of all the HDR flavours available as the dynamic metadata approach allows more visible specular highlights and better mid-tones adding some depth to the image. The Hisense also has more features overall, such as VRR and 24p judder removal from more sources, which makes up for the Roku's slight edge in picture quality. The TV is equipped with the latest Dolby Vision technology, which uses all the intelligent power of the processor to provide a perfect picture in a room with any lighting at any time of viewing. Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. There is a content discovery feature along with direct one-press buttons on the remote and there is also compatibility with Alexa for voice commands. This ensures that input delays are minimized so that the player's reaction can be seen on the screen more quickly.

It's an impressive TV with a similar Mini LED backlight to the Hisense U8/U8K, although it has fewer dimming zones, isn't as bright, and its contrast isn't quite as good. It's better for a home theater setup than the Samsung S90C OLED as it supports Dolby Vision and advanced audio formats like DTS and has better image processing than the Hisense U8/U8K.

It’s been a little stuttery with all the PC’s I’ve used with it so far though, so should be fine for consoles and family games like Overcooked, but maybe not your next competitive gaming monitor eh? The design is pleasingly minimalist, and while the bottom section is a little bulkier than most, it does incorporate a built-in subwoofer, so we can forgive it. This makes it a cheaper home entertainment alternative to very expensive models from the two aforementioned brands, especially as it supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as DTS advanced audio formats.
