About this deal

I will (hopefully) read many many more books in my life, but none of them will make me feel the way this book - this entire series - has. Some might think of him as a strong draught, burning the back of one’s throat, but invigorating all the same. I suppose I would have plummeted out of the air,” Jude tells him with troubling equanimity, her expression saying, Horrible risks are entirely normal to me . This character development almost builds more of the world for you, its almost like Cardan is the world. This story within a story links so much of the book together and I loved it as I figured this out as I read.

Cardan had trusted Nicasia not to hurt him, which was ridiculous, since he well knew that everyone hurts one another and that the people you loved hurt you the most grievously. It also showcased a lot of his past, both the bad and the good (mostly bad though) and through this, we could see his path towards wickedness - how everything started from the moment he took his first breath. None of them will leave me wishing that i was the one who wrote that book because this entire series has everything i could ever want in a book.I mean, I can think of at least three scenes from the first book I wanted to see in his perspective. Illustrator Rovina Ca did such an amazing job of capturing his likeness and personality in her work. Getting to see parts of the stories already written throughout The Folk of the Air from Cardan’s perspective adds so much more depth to the overarching plot lines. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: This book wouldn't have been possible without Balekin, Locke and Nicasia's stupidness. A prince of Faerie, nourished on cat milk and contempt, born into a family overburdened with heirs, and a nasty little prophesy hanging over his head — since the hour of Cardan’s birth, he has been alternately adored and despised.

Each chapter is paired with lavish and luminous full-color art, making this the perfect collector's item to be enjoyed by both new audiences and old. Me gustó conocer más a fondo a Cardan y descubrir su perspectiva de la vida y de algunas de las situaciones que ya conocíamos pero solo desde el punto de vista de Jude. spoilers> The one part that had me miffed was when Cardan learnt about Nicasia and Locke, I wish he had done more because he didn’t deserve that at all (this cemented my hate for Locke and I did very much enjoy Cardan punching him). Each chapter is paired with lavish and luminous full-colour art, making this the perfect collector’s item to be enjoyed by audiences both new and old.And then all throughout his life, she tells his alternate versions of this same story, each version with a new meaning for a new version of Cardan himself. I am thrilled to finally get to tell you a bit more about the sullen, annoying, and enigmatic High King of Elfhame and I am especially excited to be partnering with Rovina Cai, whose artwork is witty and atmospheric and absolutely perfect to go with this tale. But I'm hoping this is Holly's secret way of telling us that there will be more Cardan short stories (WITH JUDE) in the future.
