About this deal

Grace trying to grab her gun ball trying to stay conscious as Eric tortures her and threatens to beat Jack was just done so well that I kind of felt myself getting panicked. Coben (6 Years, Caught, One False Move, Just one Look, The Woods, Deal Breaker, Gone for Good and Miracle Cure. An ordinary snapshot causes a mother’s world to unravel in this shocking thriller from the bestselling author and creator of the hit Netflix drama The Stranger . The second thing I dislike about was that I feel that Jack and Grace could’ve had more scenes together before Jack gets kidnapped. The story actually begins with a surprising admission from a prisoner serving a life sentence for murder.

Los personajes, están lo suficientemente perfilados, pero no hay ninguno que vayas a recordar con el tiempo. The plot has a lot more depth to it than you would first appreciate, and offers a lot more than the normal blurb would suggest. And I feel like that the book makes their relationship between Grace and her kids feel like it mean something, which is something that the other Harlan Coban novels really don’t have as much. I think it does a good job of conveying the enter drama of the characters and showing us what they’re thinking and how they feel about certain things without dragging on for too long. This was my first Harlan Coben read--I have a bunch of Coben books I've collected sitting on my shelves, so it seemed like a great choice for my challenge.

To put it bluntly, the storylines had so little to the meat of the story that if I cut the storylines out completely and then change the climax of the story just a little bit, it would not have made even the slightest difference to the novel in the grand scheme of things. The plot is complex, dark, contains some real surprises, and has a twisty ending that I failed to spot. After picking up her two young children from school, Grace Lawson looks through a newly developed set of photographs. By the international number one best-selling author of Tell No One and Fool Me Once, soon to be a major movie starring Julia Roberts.

I also liked how some of them were rather mysterious and remained that way throughout the entire story. While the mysterious paternal figure certainly helps Grace out, providing protection for her and her children, I didn't like him at all and he seemed less believable than most of the other characters. That despite skipping the massacre, she still living in it as well as coping with the fact that her husband is gone forever. Not just because I'd spent almost the best part of a day reading, but this book is one hell of a roller-coaster that will keep you guessing and second guessing right until the end.
